The title has nothing to do with me being tired of life or about me not giving a rats ass about what’s happening around me. I care a great deal about what currently goes on both in the world as well as my personal life and although there are times when I feel exhausted that’s not what this post nor the title is referring to. It’s basically referring to a book I bought at Colette (you know, my fave store in Paris, or maybe even in the whole world) with the same title which describes the life and fashion of designer Mark McNairy. I bought the book as his stance on life (and fashion) is IDENTICAL to mine: Recognize and acknowledge the traditional, but subvert it whenever and wherever possible!
Easily put that means, if you know the rules of fashion, you’re allowed to break to them, if you know the rules of etiquette, you’re allowed to break them. Who says you can’t wear roll-up jeans and sneakers to a blazer to a business meeting? Who says you can’t wear a snapback if you want to? As long as you look and feel good, go for it! So put all conventions aside and be and dress exactly how you want to. I mean, nothing is forbidden really. Not even wearing red to a wedding (which by some old beliefs indicate you’ve slept with the groom, but then again, who’d wanna flaunt with that?). Have fun with fashion! I do! 🙂
