Life serves you with strange coincidences at times. When writing this post it dawned upon me that it’s actually my 6 month anniversary for my blog today. (I won’t use any other word available out there for that occasion, although some bloggers do). My very first post ever was featuring a Bieber tee from H&M and here I am, 6 months later, wearing another tee with Bieber on it from H&M. Mind you, this was in no way planned. It’s just one of those quirky things that happen at times. I’m not going on a long rant on what I’ve learnt during these 6 months of blogging however as that would bore even myself out. Let’s just say I’ve learned a lot and you who have followed me on my journey have seen what I’ve been up to. What is even more exciting is what’s to come. Big changes. Good changes. Phenomenal changes. What’s the best part? You get to be part of it! Thanks for all the support so far! It will be a pleasure to have you as honored guests in my life for years to come.
I wasn’t going to talk about things I’ve learned during these six months, but I’ll have to point some stuff out anyway. First of all. At photo shoots you can never predict what the weather is going to be like, as was the case here. Me and my photographer (by a coincidence also named Thomas) ended up shooting this on a very cold, semi rainy day, but hey, all you can do is make the best out of it and keep smiling even though your sneakers are covered in mud…
I’ve also learned not to mimic others. My Bieber impersonation in the pic above doesn’t really look like the real deal (on the tee). Not that I’m sure I want to either (oh screw it, he’s hot). To stay true to myself is the thing I hold most important when blogging and in life in general. Being true to yourself and others seriously affects your life in ways I couldn’t even imagine before. Life is good nowadays. Really good. Just because I’m me. Not someone else. Not even Biebs.
I’ve also learnt a thing or two about watches during blogging. Never a huge fan of watches before, I now have a whole bunch of them, mainly being gifted with them or through collaborations and I can nowadays tell the difference between a good one and a bad one. Belgian Komono is well worth checking out. They’re affordable, yet ever so elegant and come in many styles. As a Swede I’m almost ashamed to say this (as they’re Swedish), but please don’t fall into the Daniel Wellington trap. That stuff is seriously just crap. This is the first and last time you’ll hear me badmouthing anything Swedish, haha.
Yet another thing I’ve learned from blogging in a cold climate (doesn’t matter if it’s London, Stockholm or Paris, being outside for hours for photo shoots is cold in the winter no matter where you are) gets to you. Some of my most successful photo shoots have given me a mancold from hell and have had me in bed for days, but they were so worth it. I won’t tell you which ones they were, but the pictures turned out gorgeous. Trying to avoid catching that cold though I always bring a warm jacket to set now. I also try to keep warm in any way possible, but as I don’t want to get too private I’m not sharing all of my “how to stay warm when shooting in the cold” secrets. Soon we’re heading towards spring and I can’t wait until I can toss that huge jacket away and just do photo shoots for hours without all the fuss of red noses and numb fingers and toes (not to mention other body parts). Stay tuned for a spring that will bring along huge changes in my life. All I can say now is: I’m more than excited, I’m thrilled! Cheers to keeping me company for six months and once again, thank you!
