[:en]So let’s face it. I can’t even remember when I’ve worn something else than white sneakers in like forever. For those who are not sneaker enthusiasts though, it might be hard to spot, but I tend to wear different white sneakers for every shoot and have approximately 60 pairs of them, but in this post I’m stepping way out of that comfort zone by wearing brown shoes. I’ll get to that later as I first want to address something else out of a practical, aesthetic and even health aspect. That is, trying to change my habit of using bags, totes and over the shoulder bags into using a backpack.

The backpack that made me think again and ended up being a gorgeous alternative to all my bags is the Swedish brand, Gaston Luga. When founder Carl Sundqvist was traveling through the continents he met an intriguing French man named Gaston who had an elegant and casual style . Gaston told Carl that he thought the backpack was the ultimate companion to discover the world with. After having searched for ages, Gaston finally found an elegant Louis Vuitton which he made modifications to in order to make it more personal, functional and unique. After meeting Gaston, Carl decided to create his own brand of backpack with elegant details and practical features.

For Carl it was important to create something he’d want to wear himself and to be proud of. He created backpacks with Scandinavian minimalism and elegance to go with any occasion. Leather, thick quality cotton, metal details and carefully selected color combinations set the foundations to Gaston Luga, named after the person who inspired Carl to create this brand. I once again proudly present a wonderful up and coming Swedish brand that hopefully will change the way people feel about backpacks! My back will thank me for this! On top of that it comes with a laptop compartment which fits a 13″ laptop, a pocket for your passport which is easy to access and safely placed leaning towards your back as well as canvas to ensure the long lifespan of the backpack.

The other and much harder part of stepping out of my comfort zone was wearing brown shoes. However these Rieker shoes go perfectly with the naval theme of this shoot and can be dressed both up and down. I decided I’d wear them as if I was about to go sailing (and will, once it’s summer) and to be honest, I was surprised about the comfort of the shoes. I thought shoes like these were meant to give you serious walking disorders, but these were even more comfortable than most of my white sneakers as they come with an antistress sole.

Though you stepped out of your comfort zone, you couldn’t have picked a better shoe for that backpack or this look. They just go so well together and look so stylish. I would wear that backpack myself to stuff all my goodies in 🙂
