[:en]Do you feel like your days are filled with work, chores and duties and that life isn’t all that peachy at times. Well, join the club. Life isn’t all about the ups, but also about coping with the downs. Life is about finding balance. To find balance in life you need to be in touch with yourself and most importantly you need to listen to your inner voice.
“So, what’s an inner voice?” you might ask. As it’s your inner voice it is completely individual, but can be both on a sublime subconscious level or an active dialogue with yourself. It’s that hunch you get if something is wrong or right, worth doing or even more simple things in life such as “do I really need another pair of jeans?” (to which the answer of my inner voice always comes with a clear yes, so yeah, it’s not fool proof).
There are more than one way to get in touch with your inner self. Often it is with the aid of others. I talk a lot with a few selected friends, my family, but also consult a medium every now and then, go to a psychiatrist if I feel the need to get some issues worked out, talk to my cosmic guides (yeah, I know, some of you are beginning to start to question my sanity at this point), have a chat with God and even my spirit animal that sits on my shoulder protecting me.
Now you don’t have to be as extreme as me to get in touch with your inner self. Something that works for a lot of people, me included, is listening to music. My first collaboration on the blog was with Sudio Sweden so it’s with pride I now collaborate with them to bring you good quality at an affordable price. I could go on praising the design, the comfort of the headphones or the quality of the sound, which are all part of Sudio Sweden and their products, but that’s needless to say as I don’t promote crappy products and I’m not biased even if these happen to be Swedish.
What you listen to is up to you, but I listen to whatever suits my mood, be it meditative and soothing music or something more upbeat to get me going. And I know there’s been lots of the Biebs on my shirts as of lately, but honestly I’m not a Belieber per definition. H&M just happens to have a great collab with him and hey, who knows which Justin I’m referring to…
What my inner voice told me this day at the skate park was not to try skating and it was right. I had a skateboard (made of plastic) when I was like 6 years old and I wasn’t good at it then and I’m sure as heck not good at it now either and have the bruises after this photo shoot with Joanna to prove it. But the things we do to get those perfect shoots right? That can be applied to all areas in life. Step out of your comfort zone. Do something you’re not good at. You’ll find out that often it turns out you actually don’t suck at it at all (except for when it comes to me and skating). As my jacket states: Break or bust!

March 17, 2017 at 1:42 amListening to music is the way I calm myself and reflect on life too! It’s definitely a good way of getting in touch with our inner selves. I couldn’t agree more about the importance of balance in life — it’s definitely important to be able to not only embrace the good but also know how to cope with the rocky moments. I love your outfit especially the back details of that bomber jacket, Thomas. You look wonderful as always! xo, sharon

March 17, 2017 at 4:08 amListening to that inner guide can be so helpful (but totally dangerous sometimes too haha). I love my Sudio earbuds but have yet to try the headphones. I hope I get to soon because they’re so cool! I love listening to music and podcasts to calm my mind. Currently listening to jazz as I prepare for bed!

March 17, 2017 at 2:49 pmthe idea of listening to your inner voice is an interesting concept i never put much thought into until now. I guess I’m not too in tune with myself and it’s never really occurred to me haha, but it’s really nice to get some insight from your perspective.
Also I LOVE your tee! haha it totally reminds me of your previous blog post about the justin bieber shirt so i’m going to have to say your probably referring to JB here? Just a wild guess hehe

March 17, 2017 at 5:06 pmLove how you wrote this post and tied together the headphones with listening to your inner voice. Brilliant!
I believe in this as well, we have to be connected to that little voice all the time, because it’s right almost 100% of the times. We are very similar in how we stay connected to that little voice 😉
Also, love your look and the concept of these photos. Totally agree on doing something you’re not good at. It feels great to step out of our comfort zones!

March 17, 2017 at 5:42 pmIt’s definitely a good way of getting in touch with your inner selves. I love to listen to music; when I relax, when to get ready for college or when to do my make-up to go out. All with a different kind of music and a different kind of vibe to it of course. And even when I have to study I put on some classic music and that works to get in a certain state of mind. X Charissa, http://www.ladygoldapple.com

March 17, 2017 at 6:09 pmHmmm…Justin Timberlake maybe? HAHAHAHA jk! Also, totally thought you were a skater until I read this. At least your photos look amazing though 🙂 I totally need to meet you too! Some people down here think it’s weird to be Christian and also talk to mediums, when I don’t think that at all. Nothing wrong with staying in touch with your inner self; most of the stuff my medium told me actually came to pass D: talk about “freaked out!”

March 17, 2017 at 6:50 pmMusic is such a beautiful thing. It can connect people and when I have a bad day (much like today), all I do is listen to music to make me feel better. It can alleviate a lot of pressure and it’s good to know it has a major impact in your life just as much as my own!

March 17, 2017 at 6:59 pmListening to your inner voice (the voice of truth for most of time) always helps us and pushes us forward so it’s definitely good to practice on that. As far as on how to connect wit your inner self, one similar method we both used is to talk to close friends. I have a very close friend who I speak to on a daily basis when I need help to calm down a crazy and hectic day. That’s always a great help in my daily life. I have Sudio ear buds (pink of course) from last year and absolutely love it. I must look into this headphones as I know their sound quality is amazing.
I adore this bomber jacket my love. Sorry about the little incident during the shoot but pictures are turned out stunning.
Love,

March 17, 2017 at 7:20 pmI actually own one of Sudio’s earphones. The sound quality is so much better than Beats and the fact that it’s wireless, it makes it all the more easier and more convenient to use. It’s 10x easier to workout in without the wires flying everywhere. I love how you actually incorporated some personal advice about listening to your inner voice in this post as well.
BTW, I’m so in love with this photoshoot. The color editing is so on point and the skateboard was so worth it! Love the outfit as well, especially the bomber jacket!

March 17, 2017 at 7:39 pmAlways, always, always listen to your gut! It works every time! Even with deciding to purchase those jeans haha. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have had them for this post. Although, that jacket is just about the coolest piece I’ve seen. Next to the headphones that is. Gotta love a good blast session to really get all the stress out. Such a cool way to tie them into the post. I would never have thought to do that, but it’s so genius. Sometimes you are just too smart for your own good, Thomas.

March 18, 2017 at 3:52 amWhen it comes to shopping, my inner voice can sometimes be neglected.. hahah. But I do agree that when in doubt, consulting with close and trusted friends is so important. I have their earbuds and headphones and omg the quality is so good and it blocks exterior noise which is a plus. Glad you like them too 🙂

March 18, 2017 at 4:21 amWow. This is so insane.
Let me start by sating that these Sudio Regents are incredible and i am lucky to be one of the proud Brand Ambassadors.
Now let me talk about insane part. When i got my Regent, I took out my skate board and told myself that I will do something different this time and it will match the entire vibe. however, I was not able to do that photoshoot at scheduled day with because of the major snow storm. 🙂 so crazy that we had same idea.
amazing pics buddy. Love them all.

March 18, 2017 at 6:38 amI love going for long runs with my music when I feel stressed because it’s probably the only time where I can just switch off and just enjoy my surroundings! If there’s one thing that I’ve learnt since going full time is that there will be lots of ups and a hell of a lot of downs too and trying to manage them both is still something I’m learning!

March 18, 2017 at 4:43 pmThe thought of going wireless on my iPhone 7 makes me reluctant to listen to music *LOL* I’ve seen many bloggers collab with Studio Sweden previously & am considering if I should get one of the headsets to try them out. March 18, 2017 at 5:36 pmDear My Darling Tommy,
First of all, which Justin are you referring to? I may or not be an actual belieber ( is that how you spell it?) so I’m not sure why I haven’t been at H&M and scooping up this collection. I did recently find a grey hat there. Love it.
Luckily I already have an iPhone 7. It wasn’t by choice by I love it. Why do you like the 6S better ? Anyway I searched the Sudio Sweden website and I’m currently deciding between pink and rose gold. Thank you so much for the discount code.
As far as the inner voice, yes . I’ve got many and listen to some 🙂 😉
Love always,

March 19, 2017 at 9:53 pmI love the parallel you draw between listening to your inner voice and these amazing Sudio headphones (and of course Justin). I agree, it is important to hear and listen to your inner voice at times and definitely not ignore it. It is there for a reason and sometimes it may not always be correct, but definitely a good way to keep yourself in check. I am working harder to find balance and go out of my comfort zone so this is a wonderful post for me. I love Sudio products and the sleek and minimal design of them. xoxo, Christine

March 21, 2017 at 10:48 amI listen my inner voice not everyday but almost everyday. I think I have two kind of inner voices : I have one that is too serious and don’t let me do mistakes and I have another one that it’s my bff when I go shopping! ” buy the shoes, buy the jeans…” it’s all I can hear from it! Ah,ah,ah!
For real, I think it’s good to stop and think at least once a day: it will make you take good decisions. I listen to my music and yes, it’s a good way to conect with myself.

March 21, 2017 at 12:33 pmIt’s crazy how music is the universal language that everyone understands and can relate to. It has so many functions, but it definitely speaks to you! I totally agree with listening to your inner self, though it’s sometimes not best. With you and jeans are me and a bunch of other stuff hah! The smallest thing would be the $6 Starbucks coffee I decided I needed ? but anyway it’s always good to try things out of your comfort zone! Even if you suck, it’s the experience that counts. March 21, 2017 at 6:07 pmI know I sure can’t listen to my inner voice when it comes to shopping! Everything else I think it comes easier cos as women we have sixth sense, that sense that tells you something is wrong, that sense that tell you it is dangerous. I do like talking it out with my close friends and family members too to get a different perspective or insights. I tend to like to use music to relax and ease me into the night. Sometimes music also tugs on my heart strings for those moments of heartache only a love song can express. All this has to be done with good quality sound equipment. My earphones from Phillips are rather old and I think I might check out Sudio Sweden!

March 21, 2017 at 7:46 pmI love how you said, “try something you’re not good at.” I know I have to step out of my comfort zone in order to grow. If there’s no growth or change, then you’re better to be dead. You need to learn to get out of that comfort to really see who you are and what you love and where you want to go! It takes a lot of prayer to get me out of my comfort zone, because let’s face it…its comfortable! But once I get out and see what it’s like, I love it!
And those headphones look amazing! i’ll have to check them out for sure xxx

March 21, 2017 at 8:41 pmHi Thomas! I truly enjoy reading your posts! You are such an excellent writer and your words really touch me. Music too – has a powerful healing affect on me. It is important to stay in touch with your inner voice and for me it has taken years for me to truly listen to it and honor what it is telling me. I love your style here too and the bomber jacket is a definite favorite!

March 22, 2017 at 1:20 amI always love the discussions you have on your post! What a great way to discuss how to get in touch with your inner self. I have the really calm, conservative, and precise version of me but I also have the energetic, cray, and ‘ who cares’ version of me too and I think that both inner voices help to keep each other inline. As for shopping though….I’m more all in than I should be sometimes because both them voices say YASSSS GIRL! bahaha I definitely do some of the things you do to reconnect! Also, the Sudio head phones are SO amazing! I love them to bits!

March 22, 2017 at 6:28 amI always love to read your posts, it provides me a different perspective to look at things… I have no doubt that my inner voice talks to me all the time, but most of the time I’ve been ignoring it because I have been so swamped with work, chores, social live (just like what you’ve said above) or with other things, and I have no time to address the concerns that have been raised by my inner voice. I feel like this year will be the year of change for me 😉 maybe it’s time to take a bold step and listen more to my inner voice 😉

March 22, 2017 at 6:55 amYour posts always make me think Thomas! It’s really important to get in touch with your inner voice and music really is such a great way to do so! Sudio have the best headphones, I’ve worked with then twice too and their quality can’t be beaten! Also, no one rocks Justin Beiber clothes like you 🙂

March 22, 2017 at 7:23 amMusic is seriously the best relief, it can lighten up my mood or indulge my fix for a little depression (hey you need to let it out sometime). When I work or blog I have to have background music because I cannot work in silence, and my inner voice is so diva and bitchy sometimes I feel the need to drown her out too. I also have the Regent, in white and it is a great wireless head phone with great sound quality. p.s. That bomber is so friggin good, I want it.

March 22, 2017 at 6:37 pmSo true, Thomas! It’s always important to stay and listen to our inner voice! By the way, you killed it in this photo shoot, you look really cool in this laid back outfit, it reminds me of a TV Show 90210. Have a lovely day! x

March 22, 2017 at 8:23 pmI get in touch with me by talking to myself. Don’t laugh. I talk to myself a lot. And nothing wrong with wearing Biebs all the time. Congrats on another Sudio collab. I could use some new headphones and it drives me nuts that the “good ones” are all a small fortune.
I’ve always wanted to skateboard – I just don’t have the balance. I tried a couple times and it didn’t end well LOL

March 22, 2017 at 11:26 pmI always say trust your instincts and listen to what your gut tells you because you always have a good inkling as to what’s happening around you. 🙂 Love the jacket and even though you’re not a Belieber, the entire ensemble looks so well put together. If you hadn’t told me about the bruises, I would’ve beliebed you skated. (haha… bad joke. lol)

March 23, 2017 at 2:31 amI love that you linked finding your inner voice with listening to music. Listening to music is a great outlet for a lot of people. I find myself listening to music when I work out because it gives me more motivation. These Sudio headphones would be great for working out!

March 23, 2017 at 3:05 amLOL! You are so funny, I had a few moments where I laughed out loud reading this. I listen to my inner voice a lot too (even when it’s telling me to buy those $200 pair of jeans hehe) and I also seek advice from a therapist or cosmic guide when I feel overwhelmed, it helps add so much clarity! Love this photo shoot and the headphones btw (I would have never guessed you weren’t a natural s8r boi if you hadn’t said otherwise lol!)
Hope you have an amazing week Thomas!

March 23, 2017 at 5:23 amI know what you mean about always being busy and just never having any time. It is important to stay in touch with your inner-self. It seriously can be hard to even do that sometimes. I think you just have to do things that will make you happy with your own-self. My fashion blog helps me understand myself and what I want. I also love your headphones and your photos. You look awesome.

March 23, 2017 at 12:33 pmHaha about the jeans was absolutely funny. I would answer ‘yes’ too :))
If seriously, I think it is really important to listen to you inner self. Even our body sometimes knows what we should eat and what not. We have harmony inside, just need to learn to hear yourself.

This one looks so chic as well and i know what you are talking about the quality of swedish brands. And as always a very well written blog and pictures.

March 29, 2017 at 1:06 amYou’re right it is sooo important to learn how to get in touch with our inner selves and listen to our inner voices. Sometimes it’s too easy to get lost in what’s going on in the world and lose sight of what we are truly thinking and feeling. I totally agree with you that music is a great tool.. I often put on some relaxing music when I am feeling over stress or my mind is running on overdrive and it helps me get in touch and calm down. Meditation is great for that too! It really gives you perspective into what’s important 🙂

April 3, 2017 at 7:01 amDear Tommy,
First off love the concept of this post. Obviously as a musician i’m always listening and chatting with my inner voice… constantly. Everything you write is always so clear and to the point! I love your headphones! I might have to get me a pair, just like you I had to get the iphone 7. I was not wanting to, but my 5s decided it was time to RIP. I actually really dig it now. I tend to not get phones often, I take care of my things and try to make them last for a long time, but I’m still adjusting to this modern iphone, I miss my 5s, lol. Anyways I’m glad you were safe and did not break a bone on that board. I’ll be moving back home to LA in a few months and I gotta brush up my skate boarding skills with my one eye, cause lets face it, i’m still that kinda guy. I dig the board you have! Great photos too dude!
Always enjoy your posts.
Take care,
Dom
