[:en]I always talk about how much I love wearing color, but once again I find myself wearing a semi monochromatic look. This time, however, it’s an hommage to France as I’m wearing the French Tricolor on my sleeve as well as on the backpack, both from Le Coq Sportif. I must admit that my experiences of France are limited to Paris and Cote d’Azür and I would love to visit all of France, especially after having looked up serene places to spend my vacay at lately and found many hidden gems in France. It still leans towards Greece though.
I’m going to Paris in June, so despite the fact that I’ve really missed Paris it’s not a biggie as I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been there, but returning to Paris is always like coming to my second home. There’s something so warm and welcoming about that city and it seems like I can’t ever get enough. On a side note I do hold a grudge against the French ever since the 1789 revolution where my favorite queen ever, Marie Antoinette, along with her entire family were executed in a barbaric way, but I think 200+ years should make me forgive the vigilante ancestors by now and seriously embrace the rest of France as well as it’s a beautiful country.
As for France it’s really not just Paris and I urge people to think of Europe as more than just Paris and Rome. It is such a diverse country (and continent for that matter) and I feel somewhat ashamed that I’ve only been to Paris, Nice and Cannes, but that’s going to change soon enough I hope. Until that I’ll enjoy all the good things coming from France both when it comes to fashion and culinary treats and will keep returning to my beloved Paris every now and then. As for now, I’m preparing for PFWM and that’s seriously going to be a blast.
The shoes are not French though. They’re from Stockholm based Jim Rickey and from their Cloud collection. With the code THOMAS15 you get 15% off the entire collection until May 21st, so if you’re thinking about investing in a pair of clean, classy and chic kicks I’d suggest you’d check their homepage out. Oh, that goes for both guys and girls in case you were wondering.

I’m quite jealous that Paris is a second home to you. It’s been my dream since I was a little girl to explore the streets of Paris and see the sights through the locals’ eyes. I hope one day I get to travel there! I hope you have so much fun at PFWM – that will be an amazing experience, I’m sure. You should wear this outfit when you go!

Thomas, you are seriously rocking the red, white and blue! I can’t believe I’ll miss you by a month in Paris (I’m going to Haute Couture in July) but maybe one day we will cross paths when we are traveling 🙂 I also hear lots of good things about Greece too!
BellaMay 15, 2017 at 7:37 am
Riktigt snygg outfit!
CharissaMay 15, 2017 at 9:41 am
Ahhh obsessed with this outfit. Love the tricolors on the sleeve and back. I can totally relate to your sayings about France. I’ve only been there twice, but there’s this vibe in France that I love.. and which will make me come back haha. I’ve been to Greece a LOT more, and I’d definitely recommend it in case you’re still in doubt. XO Charissa || http://www.ladygoldapple.com ||

I am so jealous you view Paris as your second home. I’ve never been! My husband and I are in the middle of planning a European vacation for next summer so I’ll need to pick your brain to see where the best spots are! I love the tricolors on you — they are really chic and look awesome. I’m always a fan of your style!!
SamjahMay 15, 2017 at 2:13 pm
Ummmm…I’m definitely going to check those kicks out! They are so clean and stylish and can go with anything. I also love this look on you. It just may be one of my favorites! Also, I need to explore Europe more as well. I’ve only been to Paris, Pau, and a few places in Germany.
JoMay 15, 2017 at 2:15 pm
I’ve always wanted to visit the French countryside. It certainly seems so tranquil and idyllic there. I’ve only been to Paris so there’s so much more of France I have to see. I love this look on you. The French colors suit you 😉
Mariann YipMay 15, 2017 at 2:36 pm
I also want to explore more of France! I heard south of France is absolutely gorgeous. I’ve been to Paris twice and it never disappoints. Your backpack is so cute and I definitely can use it for my travels. I love the color, style and size. I also think you matched it perfectly with your outfit by using those tri colors.
EvaMay 15, 2017 at 2:37 pm

Sending kisses ?

Paris- scratch that, all of France- is at the top of my bucket list for places I want to visit. I studied french for 6 years, but know I know so little, and that my idea of the country is limited to what the textbooks offered. I haven’t always heard that it’s warm and welcoming, so it’s nice to hear positive notes on the atmosphere for a change:) I’m excited to follow along on your trip! And love that it’s just the sleeve of the sweater, it looks great that way!
CocoMay 15, 2017 at 4:09 pm
Lol you made me roll with the Marie Antoinette special mention!! This outfit is so cool besides being a tribute to France! I love the color blocking and the minimal vibes of this athleisure look. Your shoes are a blast as well! I love discovering new brands of cool white sneakers. I agree with you, Europe is not just Rome and Paris! I would love to visit more of France, small towns and lavender fields, the castles of Loira and the vineyards. I would love to visit Sweden, which you made me even more curious about. I have been several times in Greece, and I know that you will fall in love with that country. Once you are done with France and Greece, I invite you to see more of Italy, from Tuscany, to Sicily, to Amalfi Coast and Sardinia. In one month I’m actually leaving for Sicily, I’m in so much need to chill out on a warm beach. Another great look my friend, I’m your fan forever! I am obsessed with that sweater! The colors on the sleeves are perfect and you know just how to style it with white jeans and fresh white kicks
Christine KongMay 15, 2017 at 7:20 pm
You are so true about France. I literally only think of Cannes and Paris when I think of France but there is so much more. I am so jelly that you are going to FW there…what an amazing opportunity and one I would love to do someday. I am obsessed with the sleeve details on this top! The red, white and blue against the black really pops and the contrast with the white backpack makes for an amazing outfit! Love the kicks too even if they aren’t from France. =) xoxo, Christine

You totally show how modern day men’s style doesn’t have to be boring. I live in St. Louis and I am so used to seeing men in khaki pants or jeans and a button down shirt. It’s nice and presentable, but often times just blends into the crowd. I love how your style always stands out, just like this tri-color top and backpack.
Jerad MichaelMay 15, 2017 at 9:11 pm
Very nice sporty look!
Jordan ChapmanMay 15, 2017 at 10:19 pm
Paris is your second home like London is mine! It’s a great country and Marie Antoinette is my favorite as well, so I definitely understand your struggle! The tricolor is so emblematic and iconic, everyone knows the bleu, blanc, et rouge and associates it with France immediately!! This is an awesome way to show off your love for France and I’m loving that you gave it a little sense of home with the Jim Rickey trainers!
AmyMay 15, 2017 at 10:31 pm
Thomas you seriously rock this look!! I love how your backpack matches your sweater! Love the French tricolors to them too. Hope you have a great time in Paris when you go next month. Paris is definitely one of my favorite places to travel and explore!
By the way, I really love those white sneakers, such great design to them! 🙂
JenMay 16, 2017 at 12:42 am
I love Le Coq sooo much! A friend of mine introduced me to that brand and I fell in love. I also fell in love with your outfit and I want to steal it!! I love the tri-color sleeve detail and don’t get me started on that backpack because I’m always on the hunt for a cute backpack. Just a stunning, well thought out outfit Thomas!!!

I definitely relate to you when you say you love color, yet you wear monochromatic color schemes…me too! I just feel that neutrals are a lot easier and require less effort. I love those sneakers you’re wearing too. They look like high end classics and you know how crazy I am about my kicks. Looking forward to your posts from Paris Fashion Week too!

LukeMay 17, 2017 at 7:37 am
You have totally inspired me Thomas, I literally just booked a trip for the end of summer to explore some more of France (I too really only know Paris). PS, I totally love that sweatshirt, you really sell it here as a musthave!
LAFOTKAMay 17, 2017 at 10:08 am
OMG the styling is so cool! How did you even find the most perfect location to match the sweatshirt? LOVE this! Have fun in PAris x

I have never been to France but it would be a dream to take the summer off and just road tripping all over, from Paris to Cannes to Provence and Bordeaux (for the wine) just really romancing about the country and culture and everything it has to offer. This top with the asymmetrical color blocking sleeve is Tres Chic! Hope you enjoy your trip and share all the beauty on Instagram with us.

France is one of my favourite places in the world. I really felt I could comfortably live there. I guess I have also felt that way about Prague and Amsterdam too, of all of the places I have spent time in. Oh, or Vienna! Actually, any of those places would suit me just fine. I love Australia, but it never really feels like it is right for me. There is something about the French style that just sits so well with me. And I love the red, white and blue! 🙂

I think this is one of my favorite outfits of yours. You look like an old school F1 driver ready for battle! lol Hope you’re having a great day buddy!!!!

“But I think 200+ years should make me forgive the vigilante ancestors.” Literally loled at that comment. When is PFWM?! I can’t wait to see all the outfits you wear that week, so I’m trying to mentally prepare myself. Anyways, the monochromatic ways are totally my jam! Gotta love the Parisian color-blocking as well. Plus, your signature sneaker styling is coming in hot as well.

Though I’m also a fan of monochrome looks, I really appreciate the touch of color added uniquely to just one sleeve. I think it gives the outfit such dimension! I’m so jealous that you’re off to Paris next month. I’ve been there once several years ago and loved the city. I really do I hope to visit again sometime soon – and check out other parts of Europe as well!
With love, Jenn

Jennifer QuattrucciMay 18, 2017 at 1:40 pm
Dear (My) Tommy,
I love color as much as you , which I know you know my darling…but anyway that’s why I was thrilled to see these pieces with the French Tricolor from Le Coq Sportif styled so beautifully on you ! You never cease to amaze me with the way you take fabulous pieces and turn them into sensational outfits ! Love how you pointed out the many remarkable places in Europe other than Paris and Rome and definitely am hoping to make my way there. I also love the sneakers from Jim Rickey ! My husband might receive them for his birthday;)
JessieMay 19, 2017 at 1:45 am
Love the Le Coq backpack and you look so stylish yet minimalistic with the French tricolours. I’m a big fan of Le Coq Sportif, and I have about 5 pair of their sneakers at home! This brand is causal yet elegant in its own way! Love how you style them. Love your Jim Rickey shoes too!
Helen ChikMay 19, 2017 at 2:18 am
You’re in Paris in June?!! I fly in on the 7th! Will you be around to catch up?!
You’re looking awesome with a hint of colour and I agree with you on the fact that there is so much more to Europe than the main touristy hot spots and one of my favourite places is Florence and Sienna in Italy!
frank linMay 19, 2017 at 11:50 am
You definitely should visit more places in France! It is my favorite country
so you can ask me tho 😀 I love the outfit! I actually LOVE the color combination of
red, white and blue and I seriously asked myself a couple of days ago why so many flags
do have this combination 😀
Vanessa BerlinMay 19, 2017 at 5:34 pm
Hey Thomas, you look amazing! Love this look head to toe. This is one of my favorite looks from you. Totally sophisticated and chic at the same time, that’s why I love monochromatic because it’s elegant, but the one you are wearing simply has an incredible twist , love the sleeve. The perfect outfit, with a cute frenchy vibes.
I agree with you, when we hear Europe we inmediatly think about Paris or Rome and Europe have wonderful places to visit. I think we always think of Paris because it’s a magical city, a truly paradise surrounded with the most beautiful architecture. I would love to visit Europe soon!
Have a great day!
amandaMay 19, 2017 at 6:41 pm
I’m so with you in wanting to visit more of France! Le Coq Sportive look is perfect! I love the contrast of your white bag and black outfit but coordinating with French Tricolor! Enjoy your trip! Nothing beats Paris right?! Such a beautiful city! As much as I love Paris I must say that London is my second home! I visit all the time but still miss it when I go home.
Love the sporty chic outfit btw!
CandiMay 22, 2017 at 3:03 am
Oooh I love your entire outfit Thomas! That tri-colored sweater is too cute, and I love your super clean white sneaks – I have one but I never dare to wear it out because I KNOW I’ll end up soiling it haha!! I’ve got amazing memories in Paris too, I’m so happy to hear someone who loves Paris too. People always say Parisians are rude etc – the first time I travelled alone there – people couldn’t have been nicer! I miss Paris and definitely wish to go back, and of course visit the countryside. Imagine sitting outside, have a cuppa and just watching people strolling by in the village – sounds like a dream 🙂

Dear Tommy, you are on a roll with posts that deserve tears and heart eye emojis. This one is gonna get the heart eye. I LOVE THAT BAG. As you already know I’ve grown to love the french 14184905490% and beyond over the past 6 months. That backpack is literally everything and I thank you for paying homage to my love’s home country. I hope to one day call Paris my 2nd home but until the US allows me to leave this country #passportdenied I know my love with bring the essence of France here to California like you brought to this post!

I’ve been seeing more colour on my news feed lately because I guess summers around the corner and everyone’s trying to be more season appropriate and sprinkle more colour into their wardrobe. But I feel you on this one because I’ve not yet given up on black (or rather all black) for my attire LOL.
Paris has always been a dream destination for me because you hear about how beautiful it is all the time, it must be nice to be able to call such a gorgeous city your second home.

You are so lucky to call Paris your second home. I’ve only been there once and I so badly want to go back. There’s something about the city that’s so magical. So can’t wait to see your adventure in June. I really like this outfit soeacially the shoes. So stylish!

I love this look. You always wear your looks with such pride, and I like that about you. Always giving a great explanation why you do things the way you do. I think it is great you are making your way to Paris again in June. I have yet to get there. You are so right about Europe being more then just Rome and Paris. There is so much more to explore and learn about. I am so ready to start traveling more. I hope you share more of your travels with me when you go to Paris.
Aurela lacajMay 24, 2017 at 2:55 am
I love this monochrome look on you, the shoes finish the look perfectly. Perfect as always!
I am so jealous you are going to Paris. I love the whole country and my dream is to retire in South of France. One day maybe! And you are right Europe is not about Paris and Milan there is more to see but with limited times it’s so hard to see it all. I visited few years ago a small French country side and had an amazing time. Greece also is good 🙂
JacquelineMay 24, 2017 at 5:05 am
I love how clean those shoes are! I need a good pair of sneakers! I really do want to visit Europe I literally can’t believe I never have. I hear Nice is amazing to so I’m jealous that you’ve been! I’m so bad at wearing colors but you always know how to rock them!
EverestMay 24, 2017 at 9:38 am
Such great styling as always Thomas. you have incorporated more Colours into your usual repretoire ( French language influenced from your dressing 🙂 ) but you still managed to keep I looking so sleek and minimalistic. The Colours in the outfit catches the eyes in a classic and familiar way and so nicely topped off with white sneakers.
I love Le Coq Sportiv for their trendy athleisure styles and how comfortable they are.
MichelleMay 24, 2017 at 11:02 am
Lucky you – I have not been to France in ages! Loving your homage to France – thou it may be time to let go of what they did to Marie many years ago LOL. I think every country has a dark past and a not so finest moment that we have to forgive. The subtle pop of colors is refreshing – and I could easily steal your style and wear it in the US for 4th of July too 🙂
Andreea BirsanMay 24, 2017 at 8:00 pm
Aww, you’re so lucky for going to Paris in June! I am still hoping I’ll make it there by the end of year, but who knows :). Now on a different note, I love what you did with this outfit and how you broke the monochrome look by adding the backpack and the sweatshirt which has the colorful panels! And you will have plenty of time to wear color all summer long, for now you can just enjoy the monochrome looks for a little longer :). Wishing you a great day! xx
Ana VukosavljevicMay 24, 2017 at 11:30 pm
Cant wait to ready your posts from Paris, Thomas!!
I just loooove this look. It’s so classy with a splash of colors. I’m so amazed with how it turned out. You did an amazing job!
marcyMay 25, 2017 at 4:52 am
Absolutely love this look Thomas. I have to say I been to same parts of France like you but I will add Aix Provence. I actually did the south of France last year and absolutely loved it! Will love to explore more about France because is such a beautiful country and culture. Cant wait to see your PFWM pics.
Lily RoseMay 25, 2017 at 5:10 am
Such a cute hommage you have for France via the Le Coq Sportif sweater and backpack. I think the details are really cute and it’s great to wear something you love and are proud of. What you said about France and Europe is so true. When I think of France, I think of Paris, but of course that’s being ignorant. I really should take the time to learn more about the country and the culture, more than just Paris and the Eiffel tower. But I guess as a tourist coming from a different continent, since we’re scared to wander off to the unfamiliar, we often just stick to the known default. Maybe some research before a trip will help!
I hope you’re enjoying PFWM and can’t wait for your future post about it xoxo.
