[:en]I always talk about how much I love wearing color, but once again I find myself wearing a semi monochromatic look. This time, however, it’s an hommage to France as I’m wearing the French Tricolor on my sleeve as well as on the backpack, both from Le Coq Sportif. I must admit that my experiences of France are limited to Paris and Cote d’Azür and I would love to visit all of France, especially after having looked up serene places to spend my vacay at lately and found many hidden gems in France. It still leans towards Greece though.
I’m going to Paris in June, so despite the fact that I’ve really missed Paris it’s not a biggie as I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been there, but returning to Paris is always like coming to my second home. There’s something so warm and welcoming about that city and it seems like I can’t ever get enough. On a side note I do hold a grudge against the French ever since the 1789 revolution where my favorite queen ever, Marie Antoinette, along with her entire family were executed in a barbaric way, but I think 200+ years should make me forgive the vigilante ancestors by now and seriously embrace the rest of France as well as it’s a beautiful country.
As for France it’s really not just Paris and I urge people to think of Europe as more than just Paris and Rome. It is such a diverse country (and continent for that matter) and I feel somewhat ashamed that I’ve only been to Paris, Nice and Cannes, but that’s going to change soon enough I hope. Until that I’ll enjoy all the good things coming from France both when it comes to fashion and culinary treats and will keep returning to my beloved Paris every now and then. As for now, I’m preparing for PFWM and that’s seriously going to be a blast.
The shoes are not French though. They’re from Stockholm based Jim Rickey and from their Cloud collection. With the code THOMAS15 you get 15% off the entire collection until May 21st, so if you’re thinking about investing in a pair of clean, classy and chic kicks I’d suggest you’d check their homepage out. Oh, that goes for both guys and girls in case you were wondering.

May 15, 2017 at 12:26 amI’m quite jealous that Paris is a second home to you. It’s been my dream since I was a little girl to explore the streets of Paris and see the sights through the locals’ eyes. I hope one day I get to travel there! I hope you have so much fun at PFWM – that will be an amazing experience, I’m sure. You should wear this outfit when you go!

I’ve only been there twice, but there’s this vibe in France that I love.. and which will make me come back haha. May 15, 2017 at 3:11 pmParis- scratch that, all of France- is at the top of my bucket list for places I want to visit. I studied french for 6 years, but know I know so little, and that my idea of the country is limited to what the textbooks offered. I haven’t always heard that it’s warm and welcoming, so it’s nice to hear positive notes on the atmosphere for a change:) I’m excited to follow along on your trip! And love that it’s just the sleeve of the sweater, it looks great that way!

May 15, 2017 at 4:09 pmLol you made me roll with the Marie Antoinette special mention!! This outfit is so cool besides being a tribute to France! I love the color blocking and the minimal vibes of this athleisure look. Your shoes are a blast as well! I love discovering new brands of cool white sneakers. I agree with you, Europe is not just Rome and Paris! I would love to visit more of France, small towns and lavender fields, the castles of Loira and the vineyards. I would love to visit Sweden, which you made me even more curious about. I have been several times in Greece, and I know that you will fall in love with that country. Once you are done with France and Greece, I invite you to see more of Italy, from Tuscany, to Sicily, to Amalfi Coast and Sardinia. In one month I’m actually leaving for Sicily, I’m in so much need to chill out on a warm beach. Another great look my friend, I’m your fan forever! May 15, 2017 at 7:20 pmYou are so true about France. I literally only think of Cannes and Paris when I think of France but there is so much more. I am so jelly that you are going to FW there…what an amazing opportunity and one I would love to do someday. I am obsessed with the sleeve details on this top! The red, white and blue against the black really pops and the contrast with the white backpack makes for an amazing outfit! Love the kicks too even if they aren’t from France. =) xoxo, Christine

May 15, 2017 at 9:08 pmYou totally show how modern day men’s style doesn’t have to be boring. I live in St. Louis and I am so used to seeing men in khaki pants or jeans and a button down shirt. May 25, 2017 at 5:10 amSuch a cute hommage you have for France via the Le Coq Sportif sweater and backpack. I think the details are really cute and it’s great to wear something you love and are proud of. What you said about France and Europe is so true. When I think of France, I think of Paris, but of course that’s being ignorant. I really should take the time to learn more about the country and the culture, more than just Paris and the Eiffel tower. But I guess as a tourist coming from a different continent, since we’re scared to wander off to the unfamiliar, we often just stick to the known default. Maybe some research before a trip will help!
I hope you’re enjoying PFWM and can’t wait for your future post about it xoxo.
