Comfort Hotel Stockholm

Comfort Hotel Stockholm

[:en]I travel. A lot. My choice of hotels really depends on the purpose of the trip and this time this combined vacation/staycation is due to practical reasons. I have a flight leaving at 6:20 AM in the morning and this hotel is literally a few steps away from the express train that takes you to Stockholm Arlanda Airport (which you’ll be able to see on my Instastories later), which saves me the hassle of getting a cab to the airport and actually allows me to relax and work in an environment which is both international and very business minded, not to mention, affordable. Comfort Hotel Stockholm is as close to the Central Station you can get and their business idea is not to offer a lot of amenities in the room, but by keeping it simple they can keep their prices down and a night here is about 50€, especially now in September when they will have a campaign beginning on September 5th where you can book a room for 499 SEK in any of their Comfort Hotels which are situated around Scandinavia. Click here to get to the campaign page for the deal.

The rooms are basic, but that’s the whole point. The city surrounding you is providing you with entertainment and this is only a place where you spend the night and in my case, not being a morning person, not even the entire night as getting up at 5:30 is not my cup of tea.

Instead of a reception they have a barception where you can get all the help needed for a stay where you get a comfortable hotel room and get to explore the city from one of the most convenient locations in town. If I’m working I need a bit of extra pampering when getting back to my hotel room late at night, but if I’m to explore a new city I’m always staying at places like these. And one thing you need to keep in mind is that 3 stars in any Scandinavian country comes with WAY higher standard than 3 stars in say southern Europe, the US or even London for that matter.

To conclude this post, wish me luck as I’m somewhat feverish and am leaving for the airport 12 hours from now, yay… And yes mom and all other friends worried out there, I am taking care of myself. Hence the stay at Comfort Hotel Stockholm to make my trip as easy as possible.

Photography by Anders Skånberg /[:sv]Jag reser en hel del.

I would’ve loved to stay there when I come visit! It sounds like a great, comfortable hotel with all the necessities and of course location is key! I prefer an airbnb just because sometimes I actually like to be able to cook for myself and experience living like a local. But I’ll keep this in mind for the next time :

Such a good idea! I never thought of getting a hotel close to the airport for the night before the flight! So practical!

You’ve just gave me a brilliant idea. I tend to always book 6am flights because they get me to my destination the fastest, but I also hate having to be at the airport for 4am. Instead of having to wake up super early, I should just spend the night at a hotel nearby! In this case, there is absolutely nothing wrong with just getting something affordable and comfortable. Thanks for that brilliant idea!

Your choice was both practical and smart. Early flights always give me a little anxiety. I don’t like being up that early at all!! So staying next to the airport on my travels is something I will definitely consider on my vacay!

Yeah i have to say i have done that too and it is much more practical and peaceful … than traveling with all that stress to get to the airport. The hotel looks really cool. Especially the game haha. No i do not have a gambling problem… ? i love that look babe and the jeans ?. U sure do travel in style and take care of yourself and that fever

Such an amazing idea! I was so intrigued by your Instagram post near the delightful pinball machine and I was also VERY concerned about your feverish state ! I remember when you got very sick last year and hope you are 100% better!! However I love everything about Comfort Hotel Stockholm and definitely will choose it for its coziness and affordability! Definitely my type of place to stay ! Thank you so much Tommy for capturing these awesome moments and as usual for your honest details and review !!

Oh no… are you feeling better now?? Getting sick while traveling is never fun.. I hope you got to sleep it off during your flight. I love a simple and affordable hotel like this one, it definitely looks much more modern and cleaner than some of the hotels I stayed at in Italy, even though it’s the same 3 star hotel, haha.

I hope it didn’t turn into a full-blown fever! I myself just caught some 24 hr bug… feeling a little better now but still on the mend… this hotel looks like such a great location in Stockholm – which is key to me while visiting a new city. Hope you’re feeling much better! xo, Suzanne~

This hotel looks like the perfect idea for when I visit Stockholm. I really like to stay in hotels near the airport so I can wake up a little later and still be on time for my flight. Hope you are feeling better, Thomas!

This hotel looks so awesome! I have never been to Stockholm. Actually, I’ve only been to Spain and Iceland when it comes to Europe, but I will be knocking a lot of places off my bucket list next year so I will keep this place in mind.

Any hotel that has arcade games is a hotel I want to stay in haha! This place honestly sounds amazing. I really love the simplicity. It’s just what people need in a busy city! I also love the idea of the barception area. Super creative. I hope you begin to feel better soon. Traveling while sick is no fun at all! I know you’ll find a moment to pamper yourself and rest soon!

Love the idea of a bar when you walk up to the reception area.. That way you can chat without the pressure. I’m a fan of hotels that offer comfortable but modest amenities so you can really spend time enjoying the area around you, which is the whole point, right?!

I definitely think that location especially when you need to catch an early flight or train is crucial and finding the right place to stay that is comfortable and clean but also trendy is difficult. Comfort Hotel Stockholm looks so modern and hip and I love that it is basic but also extra. The barception is amazing and I love the decor of this hotel. Great thing that you discovered this little gem! xoxo, Christine

I hope you’re feeling better now! Thanks for sharing, I do this all the time too – booking a convenient. no-frills hotel if I’m leaving early the next day or just need a basic place to stay. No reason to splurge on an expensive nice room when you’re going to be out all day or just for a short, quick stay. As long as it’s clean, it’s fine with me, and Comfort hotel definitely looks clean – I’ll definitely stay there in a heartbeat!

I am not a morning person like you, and the idea of suffering that morning wake up call to catch my flight is just darn awful. So I think it is quite ingenious to stay as close to the airport as possible for the evening prior so you suffer less and don’t have to get up as early. The only exception is that I wouldn’t look quite nearly as put together as you are for my 6:30am flight, I would pretty much roll out of bed, get on the plane and put my head in my hoodie so no one sees my hot mess. But should I ever fly out early, I will def take point from you and find somewhere such as the Comfort Hotel to spend the evening.

I’ve never considered staying close to the airport as opposed to booking early flights! I’ve always just done the 8am flights so it wouldn’t kill me or my sleep, but I think your tactic is a better alternative! Will try this on my next trip 🙂

For quick trips like for business trips it’s good having hotel alternatives like this that are affordable, not unnecessarily flashy, and located close to where you need to be. Great hotel find Thomas!

This hotel looks great. Not too expensive, basic, but nice. It reminds me of Generator Hostels.
They also provide private rooms [so for yourself] and looks very lot like the room you’ve stayed in.

Sometimes I book places like this too when you actually need a basic and decent room to stay while you explore the city. Love the barception thing lol never heard something like that but loving the layback vibe of this hotel. Thanks for sharing.

I’m not a morning person either so a wake up call waayy early in the morning sounds brutal. This hotel looks so cute and comfortable, just as it says on the tin 🙂 You really can’t beat the price, convenience, and comfort of this hotel. Thanks for the recommendation!

I always love being able to spend a night before a flight at a hotel. Flying anywhere is already stressful enough as is for me, and having to wake up early for flights is noooot my thing lol. Glad you got to experience yet another grand time at a comfortable hotel. I hope you’re feeling loads better now and the feverish symptoms are long gone! xo, sharon

I love the barception concept! I lived in Germany for a couple months and you are making me miss the European life style. I loved being able to pack up, hop on a flight and be in Paris within three hours. I hope you enjoy your trip! I love the shoutout to your mom at the end- very funny! Please continue to take care of yourself. It sounds like you make the most of every opportunity.

It’s so cool that you enjoy traveling and that you get to do it often. This hotel was a great idea for that 6am flight as staying close comes with so many advantages like saving time in traffic and waking up a little later. The price sounds perfect and it seems it has all that’s needed for a pleasant stay. By the way, Wishing you the best of luck and I hope you book Miami in the near future!!!! Lots of warm hugs your way. Be blessed always 🙂

    My dear brother Tommy,
First off omg we just spoke the other day and you didn’t even tell me you weren’t feeling that well. I hope your feeling better now, you need to tell me when your not feeling well, haha. You know I worry about you too. Anyways let’s get back to this awesome hotel. Man oh man, even for a hotel that’s near the airport, this hotel looks like a win! I know you only stay at the best hotels bro so I would love to stay here or a hotel like this one day. If my brother Tommy says it’s great, then it must. Please be getting some rest okay. Awesome review and post bro.
    Love you!

I actually love hotels like this, especially when I’m only there to sleep! The more basic the room to me, the better! I couldn’t imagine a better room and for the price, it’s so worth it! I do hope you’re feeling better though and the barception helped a little!
