Därför bör alla se SKAM

Därför bör alla se SKAM

Fashion, Life itself

Vad sker i framtiden?

JUST NU.

Lever. Just nu.

Well gosh that sounds like an amazing show, and now I’m kind of sad I can’t really watch it (without some sketchy downloading haha). I think it’s so important for shows and just pop culture in general to begin taking away the taboo of mental illnesses and the rest of those topics. These are normal things. Things people experience daily, and they NEED to be talked about. Thank you to this show and to YOU for being open enough to share them. Also, your last photo makes me so happy cause your little smirk is just wonderful.

I am not sure if you told me about this show but it sounds like a great series. I am happy that you are processing the things from the past and learning to forgive. One thing that life can’t take away is the beautiful memories you had with certain others. Yes love has no labels and it shouldn’t be categorized by gender. I really love this set of pictures especially the last one with that happy smile on your face. Another nicely written post, Thomas.

I love the concept behind this show! I’m so glad it’s resonated with you to just live your life. Like you said, we don’t know how long we are here, but we should go all out like today is our last day. Do the things you love and delete the negatives. As for this outfit, I’m obsessed! You always put together the most effortlessly chic outfits. Plus I love how causal this outfit is, because it goes more along with the theme of the show (with it portraying everyday life). I must say, I gotta have those shoes though! So perfect and retro!

Hmm, the plot of the show sound a bit like one we have here called ’Please Like Me’. It deals with mental illness, a young man exploring his sexuality, his separated parents and his lazy but very normal friends. It’s charming, honest and funny, but sad too. It is worth watching if you can. Skam sounds really interesting, I wonder if we can see this in Australia somewhere. I’ve only ever seen Rita, but that is a Danish show, I think. I loved it though!! This is a very honest and open post, so real and brave.

Thank you so much for this entire post and sharing your own experiences so freely. Always inspiring!!

Sometimes a writer and an actor can totally convey human experiences and emotion in such a way that transcends the screen and reaches you directly in your heart. This post is so deep and speaks the truth, we definitely need more shows like this. People don’t understand how strong words can be, especially if its about a person’s physical features or what’s going on inside of them. I remember growing up there was a phrase often used ”sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt” I never believed this phrase because words DO hurt. I always have such respects for shows that arn’t afraid to go deep and highlight topics that are traditionally taboo to our society! I think it’s a great way to bring awareness and as you said, normalize these topics so that we don’t become scared and ignorant just from not being taught about it.
Sounds like a show that needs to gain more recognition, would definitely be something I’d like to look into

    Hello Thomas!
Firstly, I really love the casual look you have styled and really love those sneakers and its simple and classy design. I was curious about the show SKAM after reading what you wrote, I went to watch an episode on youtube! I guess it isn’t very telling from one the first episode but I think i might just keep on watching.
we all have our insecurities that we deal with in life and we always think that the mistakes we make are the biggest and most unforgivable and often too embarrassed to talk about it. I always felt awkward about myself and how i speak in front of a group of people as I speak rather slowly and not very fluently. but sometimes i just tell myself not to care about what others think and just be myself.
your frankness and openness about ur insecurities is a great starting point to accepting and embracing your journey as it definitely forms the person you are now.

I had previously never heard of the show SKAM. But after reading your post, I can’t wait to find out more. It sounds so different and exciting; I totally agree with you that remakes are never like the original. Most high school shows are exactly the same and none of them talk about taboo topics. Maybe they are too afraid of being sued by parents haha? But nonetheless it’s important to raise issues that teenagers currently face in society. I can’t wait to check it out and discuss it more with you.

Thomas this is beautiful. Definitely sounds like a show I’d watch for sure!
I love TV shows that talk about everything shamelessly. Your story is beautiful, and forgiving is the best thing you can do for yourself. I’ve learned to forgive without being asked for forgiveness and that’s the best thing we can do to move on.
And outfit? ON POINT! Love the T shirt and these sneakers are life!
    Thanks for sharing!

Thomas, I always enjoy your post so much. They’re extremely vulnerable and real. Life is not easy. It’s all about licking honey off the thorns. Everyone of us feels the way you are talking about in one way shape or form. As I’ve gotten older I’ve become more conscious of the struggle to give myself grace. Everyone deals with things differently and everyone has their own perspective on everything. Sometimes you’re ready to forgive and sometimes you’re not. It’s all a process and I think it’s wonderful that this show has allowed you to realize that we have to forgive others, if not only for our own well being and then move on. That itself is always a process too as I’m right in the middle of trying to soften my heart and understand that I need to forgive and let go but I’m not quite there. On a not so serious note…This is one of my favorite looks! Your shoes are killer and I LOVE the backpack you paired with it! Spot on my friend!

I have never heard of the show but am now very curious to watch it. Love your honest and real review about the show and how it translates into real life, your personal life. I’ve never had a show that changes my life or liberate me from feeling guilty or shameful so I’ll be curious to see what this show would do for me. Thanks for sharin.

Skam sounds like a great tv show to watch! I’m a huge fan of tv shows, but somehow I haven’t heard of it before, guess that’s because I am not norwegian lol. Anyways, your summary made me really interested so I will have to check it out. If I will get addicted, it will be only your fault :P. Have a lovely day! <3

This TV show sounds like such a beautiful portrayal of life, and life in the purest, rawest form! How great is it that even conventional media has adopted such open views of all such ”taboo” topics now? I agree, sometimes it does take some external stimulation, even from a TV show perhaps, to remind us of the important things in life and reevaluate the topics important to us. Will definitely have to check it out sometime now, thanks for sharing!!

Thank you for sharing! This show sounds very good! I used to watch a show called 90210 and it was based on real life dramas. One of the characters was also bipolar and that affected some of her relationships.

That sounds like such a great TV show. What is the name of the remake in the US? I wanna watch. And it’s so cool that Manners Apparel made that shirt after the characters. I love the retro vibe of the sneakers too Thomas. Thanks for introducing me to this show and the storyline, I might just google to watch the original version!

I love it when you open your heart… I need to find this show and watch it if I’m brave enough. I say brave because although I’ve learnt to understand that what once was taboo is just everyday life, mental illnesses and addictions scare me. They conjure up painful memories. I grew up with a alcoholic and bipolar mother, and she was always wary because she thought we couldn’t forgive her, while she was the one who couldn’t forgive herself, we just wanted to love her. I see what you mean when you say you’re team Isak. Living in the present moment is the secret to happiness, and I gather Even taught him this secret with his illness. I appreciate you for forgiving the person who didn’t stand besides you like Isak does with Even. You can change people, you just move on until you find the person who will love you no matter what, and the other way round. On a fashion note, I love your shoes with retro vibes, and that tee now means a lot to me! Baci, Valeria – Coco et La vie en rose FASHION & BEAUTY

How I wish they have this series here in Canada. It sounds so interesting. I like that it’s based about not worrying about the future cos most people here all cares about is what the future will bring including myself. Reading this made me realise to take a step back and live for the MOMENT and use the POWER OF NOW in achieving daily happiness. I really hope they show it here or in Netflix I would love to watch it too.

    Thanks Thomas!
