You can buy fashion, but you can’t buy style

You can buy fashion, but you can’t buy style

To be honest. I love clothes. All kinds of clothes and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t love expensive clothes as well. The thing is though that fashion can be bought, but style cannot. You can spend endless amounts of money on designer labels and big logotypes, but that’s so WT I don’t even know where to start. The best thing you can do is to actually combine stuff. Something might look good on a runway, but a complete runway outfit from top to toe never looks good on anyone IRL.

My way into style is completely made through combining high and low. Always start with a nice base, then add your own touch to it. Jeans don’t have to cost 200€ to look good. Jeans from Cheap Monday or H&M can be equally good, as long as you find a fit that suits your body type. If you wanna bling it up, sure, add something, but not EVERYthing from the more expensive stuff you’ve got in your wardrobe. That only looks tacky and in mine (and anyone else who has a clue about fashion) eyes you’ve immediately downgraded yourself to white trash or nouveau riche which are basically synonymous groups of people, the latter maybe a bit more homogenous.

The fact remains though, the key to looking good and the key to style is self confidence. Walk around and be yourself and be proud of who you are and all of a sudden you notice how people will glance at you approvingly when passing by. And last but not least: have fun while thinking about what you’re going to wear in the morning!
